Final Fantasy Online: Overview
Square-Enix’s first attempt at making a multi-platform Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game sets its roots from the immense and well known Final Fantasy franchise even though it is not your traditional console RPG. The game was designed to bring players from all around the globe and help them comprehend each others and team up breaking the language barrier.
The land is called Vana’diel. It’s on this world that you will fight to survive as an adventurer facing epic battles involving Gods and Beastmen hordes. Choose a nation and fight for it until the end so it can be glorious and prosper. 20 years after the Great War, Beastmen still roam everywhere and are trying to regroup their strength to face the denizen of San d’Oria, Bastok and Windurst. It is up to you to help protect what our elders fought hard and died for.
Many races populate each nation and from them you may choose one to be. From there on the fun only begins as you can level up in multiple jobs even unlocking some greater ones as you progress. You may decide to craft your way to stardom to make money while you advance in your adventures. Plenty of eyesight just deserved to be seen from one corner to the other on the vast land spanning three continents. Fish, do some gardening and a lot more to keep you entertained between your parties.
Discover a deep story line driven by multiple cutscenes and missions requesting hard fought battles, traveling to far away lands and even going far above the clouds. Travel to the past to even learn more about what happened a few years ago that changed the landscape of Vana’diel so much.
Or if you would prefer, sit down and enjoy talking with people from all around the world using a unique translation system that will let you communicate to players in English, French, Japanese and German (so far) depending on their current configuration. What you do in this world is entirely up to you and is still being expanded by regular content updates and expansions. Take arms up and be sure to join in this struggle to keep peace against those dreaded Beastmen.
